Research industry responds to public concerns over Census woes
August 11th, 2016
The Australian market and social research industry’s peak body, the Research Industry Council of Australia, has just issued a press release following public concern over the conduct of this year’s Census. The industry relies heavily on Census data, but when gathering information itself ensures that participation is voluntary, that personally identified information, if needed at all, is kept to a minimum and de-identified as soon as possible. The industry uses the information in aggregate form rather than on an individual basis. Wallis’ Principal, Jayne Van Souwe, sits on the Industry Privacy Compliance and Professional Standards Committees and was a co-author of the Press Release, which is available here.
